Leon's Corner of Smoothness

Leon, or Suusje as he is known around most of Simpsons Fandom, is from Netherlands and he is, of course, a huge Lisa Simpson fan. He started learning to trace pics in Flash some months ago, then got a tablet and started to draw his own. His pictures are very clean looking because of his experience with vector graphics, always with a happy tone, most of them quite funny and on-character, a very pleasing kind of fanart that I am very proud to showcase on Simpsons: Realities. He did the first Animated Winged Lisa ever, and just for this he must receive a round of applause! :)

Marco's Winged Lisa
Another great coloring of a picture by another artist (this time i had the honor of being Leonized :D). This was intended as a birthday picture for my friend Dagdamor, and Leon gave it the only thing it missed. Color and even more friendship (will it be brought in one of those boxes?)! Well picked colors , and the sky is fab looking. Thanks Leon! :)
Maggie to the rescue
one of the early pictures from Leon, featuring a very adventurous flying Maggie. I wonder why she worries so much about that pacifier when she's got boxes of it waiting at home ;) But nevermind if this helps to create a very funny idea for a picture that's also very well colored. Maggie's overbite could be working on, but all in all the way she's drawn gives out a nice sense of speed and movement. And that's what it needs to do :)
Gustavo's Cherry Lisa
Coloring of a picture from Gustavo (CCCD in this gallery). The pic itself was super sweet to start, but the coloring is like the icing on the cake, and what icing. Full of colory sugar and wonderful atmosphere it is... Nice colorign job, it really suits the original!
Beware the Pole
Based on the "On a clear day..." episode, watch out because Lisa has still got her pole, and she isn't afraid to use it! I like when she smiles so cheerfully. Nice piccie :)
Animated Winged Lisa
I wonder why did i not comment on this so far! Well, aside one swf from Steven Scott (but htat wasn't Lisa iirc), this is the first and SO well done Winged Animated Lisa! It's taken from a pic of Dagdamor IIRC (please correct me if i'm wrong), colored and animated in Flash. What can i say, it's practically perfect and mesmerizing! I wish there will be more like these, this is a stepping stome in Lisa Simpson fanart!
Lisa And The Pie
*LOL*s at Lisa's thought bubble! Leon is always amazing at inventing funny "sequels" to offical, and not, situations. Here, Lisa being half covered by the nice cake and the Homerish thought bubble are what makes the pic fly off in the "comedic heaven". What little we see of her is also the part that works the best.. is she smiling? drooling? Probably both! :) As alwyas great technique, no faults to point out here!
Sleeping Lisa
Aw, please, someone go pick her up and bring her to bed. How did she end to be so sleepy anyway ? :D Supercute picture, with a very believable Lisa once again, the detail of her gripping the pillow is a nice addition. One nitpick... her "hair circle" should be bigger than that, to meet the size of her eyes and overbite. This aside, the picture is lovely. :)
Lisa Rules... With a Ruler
Just as the title says... :) I said many times that the hardst angle to draw a Simpson is surely the front. Well here Leon, other than giving us all a lesson in Lisa's proportions, manages to draw her in a frontal stance without losing any of her beauty or cuteness. I bow to his skills for this. *bows*
Winged Lisa at Night
Aw, a winged Lisa! (at Night!) :) Let's see, technically this picture is almost excellence. the shading has become more detailed, there's always the usual good work on the lines and choice of colors, the background is toony and soft, the light halo that surrounds Lisa works both as an outline and as a symboical entity. If i had something to pinpoint, is that the flatness of the dress clashes a bit with Lisa's good shading work. The picture in all is as i said, excellent. Very pretty and light...
Maggie's Balloon Trip
This pic has been done somewhat similarily by other artists, but this one lookd quite original! Of course Leon's skill with grabpiccing technique, and the added shadowing, makes this look almost as a official show promo pic. Another cute Maggie to add to the collection, yay for Mags!
The Great Maggeena
The youngest superhero, at least in Springfield. :) Again a nice smooth grabpic feel to a very cute picture. I could say her arms seem to be a bit short, but all of her looks quite lovely. Very nice background too!
Maggie's Pacifiers
*lol* Now the secret is unveiled and we finally know where Maggie gets that seemingly endless suplly of pacifiers! Might this be the reason why Simpson family is always having budget problems? About the pictur itself, it's... well, very nice. Nice grabpiccing technique used on an original piece of art. Too bad it lacks that bit of shading that would make things much more interesting. Maggie is pretty on model and cute looking!
The Sacred Daughter Of The Pearaphim!
This nice and funny picture is by Suusje, and you can see more of his art here. He's very good in making grabpics, but has some original pics too. I hope we'll see his own gallery on SR very soon. :)
