Steven Scott's ToonMeetings Hall

Steven Scott is one of the SFWC admins, and wrote quite a lot of stuff. Lately he started drawing too, with great results. His art reflects his preferred field, which is anime. The result is pretty obvious, and welcome, especially here at SR... lots of anime-simpsons crossovers!

Allison, the Elf
Another fantasy-inspired anime rendition of a Simpson character: here's Allison in the shoes of a magical Elf. Well, what to say: still no BG but technically it is an impressive pic, proportions are noticeably better than usual, there is a lot of detail in the highlights and shading, Also some very nice touches with the staff that looks like a dreamcatcher, the strands of gold, her good looking profile... This is a very nice picture, appealing, polished, it could be placed together with the o...
Run!
And here Bart-chan appears! If you don't remember or don't know, the Bart-chan character is an hold.over from Steve's "Simpmoon" script. We find him here being dragged by Jessica. Maybe she wants to embarass him in front of her mates, and that's why he's looking so doubtful? anywho, the pic. As some others in this gallery, it lacks somehow of even a simple Background, but the two characters are nicely detailed and the pose is interesting. It's a bit weird to see Jessica and Bart(chan) in this...
Favourite Toy
This picture's Pros and Cons: PRO: Original, funny idea. Poses well thought. Super-Clever appearance of plushie-Bart. The girls are well drawn, cute. Overall the picture is pretty good looking. CONS: this *needs* a background, even if just a bit of it. At least the bed sheet :D . The lines are a bit agged in parts. Jessica's chin-face could use some rounding. Well, in a few words, this picture just needs a little of a BG to explain the story better. :)
Lady Simpson
Oooh, a background! It seems like it doesnt matter sometimes, but a background adds a whole lot to the feel of a pic, especially if it is thematic like this! BEsides it's very well detailed. The river, rocks, mountain, even a waterfall! Very nicely done. But let's go to the main poin of the picture, that is our Lisa in a fantasy setting. What to say about it? The dtail is *stunning*. Every little bit of her armour and weapn ond even hair is detailed and shaded accordingly. This must have taken...
Anime Jessica
Just what the title says. A Pretty nice rendition of a grownup anime Jessica. There's little to say about this since it's similar to other pics in this gallery. Usual good quality in outlining, nice eye for colors, pretty stylistic overalls... Just a question comes to mind though: How does she wash her hair? :D
Fancy!
Of all of Steve's ventures in aniem territory, this is so far the one i like the most. Aside having three characters in it, there are a lot of things that are just well done. Aside from hisusual high outline quality, i want to praise the three girls clothing: very original despite being still "derived" from their toon-days! Also, the good proportioning of them all, the cheerful expression, the detail in the shading... one nitpick is that imho the heads are a bit too large but that's a part of...
Teen Lisa
In this anime Rendition, Teen Lisa reminds me a lot of Ritsuko from Evangelion. Might be the hair, the pose or the expression of a self- conscious woman. I like how the dress is still basically her old one of course adjusted to fit the new, er.. curves ^_^; Again a very pretty work has been done with the smooth lines and vibrant colors. Hands could benefit from a slightly bigger size, but they're barely noticeable anyway.
Moon Lisa and Mercury Allison
Another new look at the Sailor Simpson theme, the roots of Steven's gallery. This time is Lisa as Sailor Moon and Allison as Sailor Mercury. Mercury is all happy about her new spiffy handheld computer, while Lisa is thinking "Has this skirt to be *so* short"? As always, crisp and clear linework, good colors and shadowing that's not overdone nor too simplistic.
Wear This
Teen Anime Lisa has sue grown up to be a very nice looking girl and she knows it. So here's when Marge's motherly instincts come in! Boy, that fluffy sweater looks unconfortable.. This venture of Steven in the anime world is welcome and, in my opinion, very appreciated. Marge and Lisa have both distinctive features while changing their visage enough to be defined as anime. The colors are polished, Lisa's pose is captivating and overall the pic is funny! Good job.
The Elementalist
Me and Steve are lately playing this game called Guild Wars which rules so much. A feature of the game i like very much, is that the female characters are damn fine looking, and i suppose he thinks the same too, looking at this drawing. Ok, it's not Simpsons but i guess i can allow one or two "original" pieces sometimes, after all i've done many completely unrelated pics too and they are in the site. Rants aside, i think Steve improved very much in his Anime style, too bad the scan quality im...
Ai ai ai!
Just like the pic reads... Jessica's expression (and yes, even the gesture) are priceless... and very in charachter too.
Lisa the Knight
Steve did this as a player portrait for his character in Neverwinter Nights (forgive me if i'm wrong though). The armour and various frills are very detailed and nicely colored, and i find interesting the idea of putting pearls in the hair (you can't have Lisa without pearls, can you?). Go Lisa!
Teen Lisa Sitting on a Pier
Ok, the pier is not drawn but that is the idea (and since she's in a bathing suit, i guess it suits pretty good). Very shiny coloring, and one of the best Lisa pictures Steve did so far, imo. Now, if she just threw off those books and went to have fun...
The Sorceress
Inspired from Neverwinter Nights, here's Allison as a sorceress. Colored in Flash, so there's nothing to say about the good feel of it, it looks very clean and the colors are great. Steve improved a lot on the technical side, the proportions are all well done (but the arms are still a bit too thin), and overall, Allison is very nice looking (err... yeah). Good shading work too!
Angel Jessica (animated)
And here's Jessica again in all her animated glory (i love how the feet swing)! The drawing was already good on its own, and the animation is a great upside to it. Hope to see more!
Cat Jessica (animated)
The first animated flash ever to grace SFWCs pages... and what Flash! Jessica's already well done and good looking as a still, but seeign that in movement is really impressive. There are so many details, and they move on their own (there's not a fixed pattern)... it's very impressive. Congratulations to Steve, who seems to begin to like this Flash stuff a lot. Good for us!
Neon Genesis Milhouse Van Gelion
One of the best Crossover pics ever! It's just hilarious, the faces expression are priceless and it's overall very well drawn. The perspective may seems a bit off, but they're in the backseat of a car, i guess that would be incredibly hard to draw even for experienced artists. Poor Millie (but at the same time, luucky!)...
Leese
Another crossover, but this time, Steven didn't write the original fic (even if he had his influence). The ficis called Full Life wo Sagashite, and you MUST read it... or else i'll cry. The pic depicts uhm, someone very close to Lisa. If you read, you'll find out. But about the pic: the girl in question looks great and for the first shaded pic, Steve did quite a good job. Still some troubles here and there but nothing that can't be fizxed with practice!
The Three Senhis
From the writer himself, the three main Senshis from SimpmoonR... Allison, Jessica, and Lisa. Just older, now as teenagers. Enjoy!
Lisa Moon
Another SimpMoon picture... Steve said this was inspired from an actual SM picture. Anyway, it's lovely and technically good. The reflection is very nice, and the meaning of the pic, for who readed the script, is quite deep.
Allisons Wings
Again, from the same person who had the start with the Wings idea, and fic. We know that Lisa isn't the only real smart kid in Springfield, and we know how Allison is similar. Here's a take of Steven about her... it's again a very meaningful pic, and if you look at a particular detail, you'll realize that it isn't so happy as it seems. She can't fly, either... but why?
