CCD's Spiky Musings

CCD is a Spanish Simpsons fan, and (like you will see) another very dedicated Lisa fan. His style is very particular, and all of his pics have overall a great sense of dynamicity, movement and life, despite Lisa looking always at her prettiest self in them.
I don't know very much of his background as an artist, so I can just say that I look forward to see his gallery on SR grow more and more, since I can sense that there is lots of potential in this guy's hands. Keep the great work up, and welcome to SR, CCD!

The Jazzler
A commission Gustavo did for the LTS member "Shin_Akuma", also known as the Bouncher, the Gambler, Venom, and a dozen other nicknames ;-P. The Bouncer looks positively scary and Lisa looks more than positively charming :). It's nice to see a change of contents now and then especially from such a gifted artist as our Gus!

Summer night
Another Birthday Gift drawn by Gustavo for Andreas, a fellow member of LTS! And what is a better gift than Lisa herself, here in a breath taking dress and more pretty than ever? :) There's also a beautiful starlit sky to fit the beauty of the girl!

Romanticism
Well, that's... quite bad romanticism, the picture has a very sad mood. Lisa's dress is really unsettling if seen in this light, and that red wine looks like blood. Art is feeling.

Resurrection
One of my favourite pics from Gustavo here, if only because it has the title of one of my favourite songs too! Lisa's just like a flower that's finally blossoming, even in her body's womanly shape. :) Awesome picture, colored very well and with fantasy.

One of my favs. Lisa's so cute hidden liek that, and the little heart balloon is just adorable... I think it's pretty clear what this pic means to the author: I jsut admire all these elegant forms...

The first Manga drawing by Gustavo! And a success to booth. As for his Lisa pictures, what he excels in is big cute heads and eyes. I also liek the semi transparency of the hair. It's not perfect, but great as first try. I wish i could see more like this :)

Dark Travel
this one's a bit obscure. The title is somewhat in contrast with Lisa's hapy expression here... but knowing the artist, there must be something dramatic lurking under the surface. What is in that letter? why is the bottom of the pic so black? Why Lisa is crossign her arms, and why the black earring? Very... interesting picture. I wish something more could be explained :)

Memories of Love
This one is one of my favourite. Almost a vintage Lisa, dressed in classical outfit... with a nice hat and parasol on a river, and she looks so happy! I wish i always had these kind of memories myself. Gustavo's inimitable style and lovefilled imagination strikes again!

A Drawing...
Just as the title says. Nothing to comment here aside the always present striking beauty of Lisa and the classical style of her favourite artist :)

Blue Spirit
Hmm, the very raw lineart and coloring would be a downside... but in this picture it seems to emanate a spontaneity and a feeling that turns these "bad" sides to good ones. :)

Lisa is so happy that she's crying? Well, in Gustavo's imagination this could be. :) Too bad the not high quality scan makes difficult for us to see what's in the background!

Black Eyes
That single tear is present on many of Gustavo's pictures... I wonder what meanings it can have. As for this picture in particular, i can't see much unside it, it once again gives out more in feelign than in plot. Feelings are not awlays good... But the style is as always elegant and pleasing. :)

Hurt
Who hurted Lisa? :( Very strong pic.. contrast aside, it's the red only color for blood that gives out the most punch in this one. There's little to comment as always with Gustavo pics.. they are a window int othe artist tormented soul. We can't do anything but sympathise and wish him strenght!

Another sad pic about a Love, this one possibily... a Love gone wrong for Lisa? the drying flowers on the floor and Lisa's sorrowful expression do not give much to the imagination. But she will be back on her feet, she's a strong girl!

No Lisas for this very sad, insightful and once again very artistic b/w picture. Love is Impossible? This kind of art shows us that no, love is not impossible :)

Lisa the Black Mage! Her expression does give a sense of mysticism here, and the ice details on her jevelry and dress, united with her arm motion, works also well in delivering the mood of the pic. As always, nice landscape. :)

Aw man, this picture is so beautiful and Deep... CCD, you will never stop to amaze. Putting aside the prettyness and the very nice stylish dresses for Lisa and Maggie, their poses, what they're doing, how they are looking at each other... is sublime! It talks directly to your heart. I don't even have to think about it, it stimulates pure empathy. It's like the ending scene of a movie where you just don't know if to cry, or cheer, or just go and rent the DVD for rewatching :P

Privacy
Quite an original composition, almost too intimate for words. I think here we see a window directly into not only Lisa's changing room... but inside CCD's very soul. This picture just oozes feeling, and not all of them are joyful and good. I see melancholy in here... it is a bittersweet picture. The notes, the flowers, the pencil of the artist, it's like a try to break the wall that separates reality from dreams. I hope you will be able to, sometimes. :)

She Is The Angel
Wings were never this realistic looking on SR! THis is really a magical picture... done by a Winged Lisa fan for another Winged Lisa fan... The result could have not been but a wonderful, deep, emotional, picture full of love and hope. I don't have much to say technically (except the squared paper - you should really drop it if you go for a sketch imo)... it's quite beautiful the way the pencil strokes give out an idea of wind and fluttering. Oh, an all family picture from CCD. :) This one needs proper viewing.. there's much going on. Even if Lisa steasl the action with her full shot and the of course ever present cuteness, i just think that they way CCD got the characters to interact is nothing short of great. Maggie and Marge (despite the lines are a bit weak there, and not much can be uderstood near the edge) look terribly sweet. Lisa's hair being ruffled by a gentle sea breeze? Sure, CCD can make even such a simple pic turn into a metaphor for life itself. Is Lisa missing her wings, does she want to fly over that vast ocean into the clouds? Or is she looking afraind at the upcoming storm? Is she smiling? is she frowning? These kind of pictures don't need much commenting, actually. It's all about the mood... *daydreams*

Ah, the competiton enry. THis was done for a competition of Art&Story over at GFWC. the plot is quite simple... Ralph and Lisa are having a very tender moment. The coloring on this is quite superb... love the butterflies, the red sky, the light that the flower seems to be giving out. All is magical! Ah, a pic with the sisters dedicated to AwwLilMaggie, a member of GFWC community. :) Very nice, very nice... it's cute how they're noth giving their backs to themselves but they dont seem like they're fighting. It's more like a tentative way of making peace or something :D They look very cute together, though. :)

Now, *this* is a Dynamic picture! All throughout, it's great. Maggie's flying hair, clothes and pacifier necklace give out the sense of movements, as the cool perspective shot does all the rest! I have nothing to concrit to this picture, i wouldnt have the guts to try and draw something like this, so props to CCD for trying... and succeeding! Hehe at the little sweatdrop ^^;

Aw... A sad Lisa pic again. I can only wonder what's written in that letter, and i want to know WHO wrote that. I'll ki... oh, sorry. Ah-hem... about the pic: Sweet and sad. I love her little jacket and how the wind plays with her dress and hair. The vast background is awesome, i love these kind of things. Distant clouds on the sea.. like if there was a storm coming. Wonderful, it makes me shiver!

My First Winged Lisa
Hey, a winged Lisa! *sarcasm detector explodes* There's not ever enough of Winged Lisas, especially if they're this good looking. It might be a first try (it shows in the roughness of the lines in places, some placement errors in Lisa's facial features, such as the nose) but CCD's artistry shows right away. Lisa's left balance on the pic gives ample meaning to her beautiful wings, that end up "stealing" the attention. I don't know if it's a wanted effect but it's surely something original. No...

You could spot CCD's pics from a mile away! :D This is as usual, one classic from the guy who draws the cutest, wispier, flutteries, artisticier Lisas ever. I cannot say mych... i love the prefect sense of joy that she emanates in here. Please though, *please* try not to draw on squared paper! ;D

Sad Rain
Can i say just "awww"? No? ;) Awww! Even with the sketchy nature of this piece, it's clear what's going on and especially the mood shines through. It's a sad picture allright, but i think there will be many fans ready to hug her and dry her tears (and her hair!) when she's done feeling bluesy. :)

Another poem-related picture, another dedication of infinete love from CCD to the pretty gitl in pink dress. :) The dress, in this pic, is looking quite ethereal, it looks like she's a spirit, the way she's flying around with the fluttery dress. The fact that we don't see her hands or her feet add to this idea that she's some kind of nuse, an ethereal idea. Ooh, this is actually a very fitting Title. There's something very deep about this picture, and as the background and title show, it's the contrast between the cryptic expression Maggie has. Wow, this is a cute picture, finally with all the three kids grown up together in a very homely way. Maggie is cute as a button, Bart looks cool and friendly, and Lisa... well, she looks like a mom. :D The way she's dressing and acting. I hate to be evil, but i'm sorry to say thought that in this one, Lisa's overbite has gone a bit too far. It's a charateristic of CCD's style that make his Lisas as cute as we all know... but i guess this time it was a bit too much. ;) She's still very pretty...

Bob
Bartman's off to save the city! >:) Quite a busy sketch this is... there are a couple of things that are hard to understand, maybe because of the lack of colors (is Bart standing on a disk or on a light spot? :P ), but the mood is very good. Love how the moon looks, Bart's posture, and Bob's "super-impression" is a nice touch, he looks quite menacing, especially with that knife and less-roundy hair. I root for Bart, anyway. :)

Cold Maggie
I gave this a pretty different title from what it should be maybe, as it's quite a scribble that's hard to really understand. Specifically, I don't really see what Maggie is doing exactly, but the beauty and dynamism of the scene alone are enough to tug at my heart strings. Aw, she's so beautiful and so... cold, yes. She rocks.

My Storm of Torment
Yay Bartman! Since now this is my favorite of all CCD's pictures. The movieposter feel, the AWWW cuteness of Lisa (and yes, Bart too!) the wonderful Spawn-like mantel, the way the siblings interact, the dinamicity kids! Another triumph of CCD's style and honest imagination. It reminds me of the old me, really, i feel so nostalgic for some reason when i look at these pics. Never stop doing this, CCD. Please :)

Lisa and Her Hope
There's never enough of Winged Angelic Lisa! Is there? Nah, especially of this quality. I like how she's looking, as many times in CCDs pics, out of the frame, as if she's dreaming or watching someone or something else. Very nice touch with the carpet of flowers on her feet. Of course i dont need to reiterate how cute Lisa looks with that ribbon and dress, and her peculiar head. The eye imho should have been reworked a bit, the shape is not very round and maybe its too big. But in the sketch...

Sorceress of The Moon
A great moon for a great sorceress :) Again a very dreamy Lisapic from CCD... aw, and look at how happy she seems! Lovely, yes, and very nice effect with the .. fireflies? snowflakes? whatever they are, they give out a very nice mood. Lisa has slightly big legs, and that reminds me of another drawing style I can't really pinpoint, but I know I like it. As always... :)

Or "reborn". Well, could a Lisafan like CCD be safe from the winged Lisa influence? no! :D And here is his interpetation of that... with purple, scruffled wings and a melancholic Lisa. Yes, her wings costed her pearls... is that an analogy for a passing of age? Is Lisa maybe learning that the meaning of her wings might be not completely devoid of drawbacks? Never fear though, i have a sensation that Marge will fix her necklace up to fit with her new wingies. :D

Nameless
Well, i'm running out of words to use for these CCD pics. This one is another cute Lisa with ribbon at first sight but imho, there are enough different particulars to let us think: Her different, loose dress: The blushign on her cheeck, the flower on the sand and of course, again a pretty fantasy-ish background. It's hard to understand what's happening there, but Lisa is happy and that's enough for me!

The Bucket
Lisa with her trademarked Ribbon flying in the wnd and a bucket of colred flowers in her hand. Yet another very nice pic with a windy and hopeful feeling to it... this time maybe Lisa's overbite is just too big, even for CCD's style, but the expression that's in her eyes makes well up for it!

Flower field
.. is this by night too? The effect used for the sky is somethign quite intriguing! Lisa as always is so cute and happy that you just WANT to smile at her and with her :) This could be a pic going with the same dreamy feel of the previous one, and lookit all the flowers! They're truly mesmerizing in quantity and detail. and i'm glad her allergy doesn't bother her! :)

Dreamy
This pic is so full of nice details that i can't really point at them all. But it gives a feeling of space and fantasy... Lisa has a pencil in her hair, so is this the way she uses her creativity? To build alternat worlds for her? ;) I don't see a pony, but i'm sure one could come up pretty soon...

Glad Tapes
Oh man, between this and "Soy Milk", i don't know what is my favourite! Finally, we see Bart and Maggie too, and i say finally as in "wohoo!" finally :) Lisa of course is pretty as always, but seeing her in the same pic with her siblings is truly marvellous. Both Maggie and Bart look very cute too, especially little Maggie with her tiny gloves and scarf, and Bart's "forced cool look" expression. Again, the attention to detail for the ribbon in the wind and Lisa's pose/action is really what ma...

I think i'm repeating myself with each picture, so i will stop going on how much CCD's pics are elegant, classy, dynamic looking and how much Lisa looks cute'n'purdy in them... d'oh! No really, all what i say for the other pics on this gallery i can reiterate here. Maybe i feel the lack of a proper background, i think it would add so much to this pic, but still the important parts are here. Infinite Beauty
Aw, this reminds me of my first Adult Lisa picture, but 10 times better! And happier :) She really looks beautiful here, and as every pic of CCD, there is a strong feel of dinamicity throughout the whole pic. Lisa is elegant and pretty, just like the flower she is holding. I wonder, is she dancing?

Beautiful closeup of a grownup Lisa. She really looks like she's in bliss here :) I of course love the pearls in her hair, since my first ever Adult Lisa pics, so i cannot but love this pic by reflex.

Lisa drinks Soy Milk!
This is one of the best Lisa pics ever! Funny subject aside, the feel of dinamicity, class, elegance this pic has is just mesmerizing. Her pose, her wavy ribbon, the classy decorations on the text, and even the still raw penciled looks of the outlines add to the final outcome of this pic. I can't say much more really, maybe it's just one of those pics that you like for their impact. It goes straight into my favorites folder. :)

Nocturnal Lisa
Okay, this is pretty unusual, but i love it! Again at first i couldn't say if she was meant to be Lis or Maggie, because of her VERY big eyes and overbite. But this is part of CCDs style and we love him for it. :) HEr pose and black dress is very elegant, classy, nice. Again, a colored Lisa picture done for the crew of fans at SFWC. There's not much to say here, except praising once again CCD's very good eye for original, pretty clothing and the peculiar style for Lisa's head and hair. The coloring might not be very detailed in the shading compartment, but surely the colors are pleasing to the eye and very fitting to Lisa's mood. Nice touch with the "oblique shadow framing", it makes it look like she is posing for an atelieur. She does look very classy with...

At first i wondered, is this Lisa or is this Maggie? The light blue dress at first confused me. Even without color, the sense of vastity and loneliness that emanates from the pic is hard to describe with words.
