Casper's View Of The Simpsons

'Hello peoples! My name is Matias... well, it's not my real name, but close enough! I've been skateboarding for just over 5 years, and during the many rainy days, I needed something else to do. After some freaky random dream that had Bart and Lisa being chased by a killer bulldozer, I had my inspiration. I then set out drawing the Simpsons while trying to keep up with the episodes for ideas. 3 years later, here I am. I've drawn about 300 pictures, and colored nearly 50. I've also done a comic, 3 Simpsons animations, and made a Lisa Simpson model out of blue-tac when bored once! Anyways, that is me, and this is my art. Enjoy!'

A Perpetual Habitat
I will reiterate here the review i made for this pic, as a LisaCon picture entry: Casper takes a new look at the whole “Lisa and Wings” theme, coming out with a highly symbolic picture that is a feast for the mind of the Lisa-addicted. Everything in this picture seems to have a deeper meaning behind the pretty colors, every detail is important and, even if it doesn’t tell a particular story, it works on a higher level. Don't you ever get stuck in the Sky! (Colored Version)
Colroed version (and how goodly colored too!!) of the same named picture yo ucan find earlier in this gallery. The colors are... well heavenly, all whites and light blues and yellows. Lisa's fiery red dress really gives a strong "earthly" feel to her presence, which gives another little insight into the meaning of the pic. Oh, did i mention how funny and cute Lisa looks? :D

The Bringer
This is taken from a nice soilwork song, of course named "The Bringer". the pic really flows with the music and with its bleak mood, it's not easy to manage this. Props to Casper for the well done Lisa shape and some very interesting details, like the feathers or the wind... very atmospheric picture, this is. You can see the sketch of this picture here.

At The Bus Stop
Ooh, so many Lisas. I know at least one that will NOT get lost during her bus ride ;) I really like the concept behind this picture and i might say every Lisa stands out for the little particulars assigned to her (them). But in particular, the military Lisa and Angel Lisa catch the eye most. We just need a Military Angel Lisa to do the perfect creature :P

Family Value
"El Barto", El Burnso? This idea is both simple and quite genial at the same time! It would be funny, if it wasn't for Homer's saddened expression, that is portraied very very well. Also, i want to spend a couple words on Bart's pityless look of satisfaction and revenge. Very nicely done! The black and white of the sketch is quite moody, although i could imagine this as a pretty dark picture. The choice of perspective is also very nice, putting Homer's grief in first plane, but making Bart's...

Stuck in The Sky
AFAIK, the tilte of this pic comes from a favourite song of Casper, but fits well the whole idea of the Almighty being baffled at what is Lisa is doing up there. By some, this is seens as a clever pun towards the deluge of Winged Lisa pics happening since some months over at GFWC... but comeon, it's hilarious. I just love little Lisa's pleading here and the funny way she's "childish" on that, as for the whole light atmosphere of the fanpic. Lisa looks very cute and on model, even if her arms...

Maggie's Escape
I think this comes out of that... well, an episode i don't remember. *kills himself* *revives* So, this pic is nice for two main things, imo : the good pencil shadowing and the right mood that the pic is given by the good choice of perspective and shadow. But let's cut the technical stuff here, and say it flat and simple...... Maggie rocks!

360 flip
Casper says: "My skate nut characteristics appear! Maggie doing a 360 Flip (thats the name of the skateboard trick ;) ) over Lisa's stuff. Bart seems amused! And the other guy, is... nobody really. Lisa's ride
Casper says: "This is a pretty box standerd picture. The only bit of history about it: it was colored, then this is the re-coloured version. Nothing special." I think the pic is well colored, and the car (or truck) has nice detail to it, especially on the tires and overall decorations (oh, and the nice tinted windows effect!). Maggie In The Snow
Oh, this is an impressively good coloring and a great improvement overall in Casper's skill: The soft, outlineless, very accurate coloring and shading gives out a really nice mood to the picture. The way the beret pushes down the hair is really cute, and as always i like the little touches that Casper puts in the background, such as the moon's halo, the snowman, the cooling towers. And also, Maggie is not sad in snow! yay! Maggie rules ;) (i'll explain this joke sooner or later...)

Bart, Snake Eater
Another night pic (he surely likes these), with another nice halo-ed crescent moon. This time, if i'm not mistaken, it's time for Bart to impersonate Solid Snake from the game "Metal GEar solid: Snake Eater", the third installment of the famous PS game series. What can i say, there are a lot of details here, the dark colors dont take anything away from it, even, they add depth to the pic. Heaven + Hell
The concept of this pic is so simple, yet so ingenious, that it only deserves praise. I especially like how Bart and Lisa are saying "hi" to each other like siblings in everyday life would... even thought there's a limbo between them. It's a real original and interesting way to symbolize the everpresent ide of bart/devil lisa/angel. Lisa Cloned
Wow, this pic is pretty bleak... The first thing that gets me is the color scheme here. Very cold, very angsty and pale and lifeless, except for Lisa in the middle of the screen. It works in two levels, it gives out the really dark mood of the picture and it shows the desperation of Lisa looking at her clones in the tubes. The perspective is slightly crooked/imperfect too, and even tohugh it might not be intentional, it adds a whole creepyness/movement effect. It's a bit violent/explicit for...

Mike's Motor
I sense a strong "Need for Speed" effect here, yes? Definitely, the car is the focal poin of the picture here and i must say, its the thing that catches more the eye. It really looks sleek and cool, even if maybe the perspective squeezes it up a bit too much. Luckily, the details around it weren't underlooked, especially when it comes to colors and characters. Lisa Ist Kalt
Aaah yes, nice, unforgiving boneshaking cold nordic weather! Here we see Lisa at her first steps in Sweden, and the poor girl is not really used to the strong climate of the place... as we can make out from the nice shaking lines and overall clothing. Her pale skin color is pretty cute too, i think. It really looks like she's having the goosebumps all over. I liked the idea to make this a night-pic and i sure hope Lisa will get used to the temperature soon. Nice work on the coloring overall,...
